classic 70s-esque design and the brand designers’ quest of creating a bag “… that you fall in love with but isn’t so precious that it can’t be thrown in the back of the car” pretty much sums up my idea of the perfect bag. Well made, gorgeous to touch and pretty spacious.

New York designer and proud new mama Rebecca Minkoff seriously knows her bags. Snapped on one celebrity and fashion blogger after another (devotees are known as ‘Minkettes’), her bags combine super quality with a twist or

interesting detail. Check out the cool studs on this one, and also note the zip which you can undo to make the bag bigger – genius!). Her style philosophy is to dress up jeans and a t-shirt with a great bag and now that she’s a mom, heels that you don’t topple over in.

Tory Burch is one of those preppy labels that I always thought was a bit too posh for me! But maybe it’s just the T-logo medallion. Anyway, I was curious to see what their pieces were like. First off, extremely well made! I felt that on just

touching this classic tan. And I love the chain strap – as they don’t get lost visually on an outfit they’re a great way for dressing up an autumn wardrobe of jumpers and heavy coats.
