NANOSECOND BEAUTY

1
We are ALL about quick beauty fixes here at Selfish Mother, so this post is likely to be the first of many on the theme. ‘Maximum results, minimum effort’ could possibly become our new life mantra. Personally, when it comes to my makeup bag, products that take time to apply just don’t get a look in – I like to make myself up as quickly as humanly possible so that I can get out of the house (oh how things have changed). But having said that I also want to look GOOD. So I welcome, nay – celebrate – ‘magic’ products like these that give

wondrous results in nanoseconds. Shove them on, look great, no skill needed: that’s the ticket.

What? Lasting Finish lipstick by Kate Moss for Rimmel
Why? Bright-as-you-like lip colour from Mossy that stays on like superglue but only takes a second to smear on. I wear no.110 – you can see it on me in my pic on the left. Whenever I wear this I get compliments on my lip colour, even if I feel like I’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards.

What? Damage Reverse restorative hair treatment by Ojon
Why? I absolutely love this and am strangely

addicted to the ashtray-ish smell. Smother it on, go to bed, wash it off in the morning and TA-DA you have super-glossy locks that shine so much it looks like you’ve found time to look after your hair properly.

What? Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30 by Clinique
Why? A tinted moisturiser, SPF and foundation rolled into one – can it be true? This is a miracle product that means you don’t need to do all-three separately, just apply this and you’re done. This saves maximum bathroom time, which is handy if, like me, a toddler is vying for your

attention.

What? Hoola Bronzing Powder by Benefit
Why? An oldie but a goody for instant holiday-glow that looks natural. Ideal for this time of year, even if you haven’t been away! I keep this in my handbag to whizz out at moments when it feels like my paltry 4-hours of sleep is catching up with me.

What? Chubby Stick Intense by Clinique
Why? Chubby Sticks are modern beauty classics and Clinique has now brought out this ’Intense’ range – I think they’re intense because they’re bold colours. I love them because crayoning them on your lips

is childsplay. They last for ages and are ideal for keeping in your pocket as they don’t melt like lipsticks can. A word of warning: don’t leave them lying around the house. Kids will think they’re crayons. Expensive crayons!
