With just 3 shopping days to go, do you need last minute Christmas toy shopping inspiration?  I know of something wonderful that’s cheap (or free), easy to get hold of, versatile and has been a kid’s favourite since Granny was a girl. Behold the cardboard box!

A Woman Less Ordinary

With just 3 shopping days to go, do you need last minute Christmas toy shopping inspiration?  I know of something wonderful that’s cheap (or free), easy to get hold of, versatile and has been a kid’s favourite since Granny was a girl. Behold the cardboard box!

kids cardboard boxes #momlife #momblogger Creativity. This morning, it was a racing car, this afternoon it will be an ambulance. Artistic. Kids can draw and cut holes through them to their hearts content, without upsetting Mum or Dad. Robust. A preschooler can sit in them, on top of them and squeeze them full of toys. It takes a lot to break one down. Different to everyone. One child's shop is another child's ice cream van! Bloom's Taxonomy*. Kids are creating something new - and having some very deep learning at the same time! Oven. That's my favourite use. Kids can learn about numbers and letters if you decorate the front strategically :) Affordable. Unless it's the box from a $300 birthday gift! Recyclable. No landfill concerns here. Do-over. Not happy with how that fire truck looked? Recycle it and wait for another box.
