The baby’s arrived,
it’s so crowded inside.
There’s cooing and aahhing galore.
But nobody sees
the new mum on her knees.
She’s the one they haplessly ignore.
The Dad’s been misled,
he’s wetting the head,
when the Mum really needs him at home.
But in all the excitement
they forget who’s important;
She’s starting to feel all alone.
A general rule of thumb,
when visiting a new mum,
whether it’s her first, second or fifth:
Don’t ignore her achievement
of creating this infant,
So make sure you bring HER a gift.
