With British Science week fast approaching, OKIDO and OjO have been busy working together on a super fun and secret project!

To showcase the surprise, we are organising a joint GET INTO SCIENCE event.

Each GET INTO SCIENCE event explores a different theme with experts, artists and scientists, encouraging learning-through-play in the most fun and creative way. This time, it is all about JOURNEYS.

There will be lots of fun things to do, including:

– Be the first to try out our new (and brilliant) game with OjO
– Make a giant marble run
– Make a vehicle with moving wheels
– Post your science questions to Doctor Sophie
– Make your own board game
– Collaborate on a giant wall map
– Start making a time capsule

Drop in sessions:

1-4pm – £8

2-4pm – £7

3-4pm – £6

Babies in arm are free.

This is our very first event at the wonderful new Station Hall, located above Herne Hill Station. Unfortunately, there is currently no disabled access, as the venue are awaiting funding for this. Please bear this in mind when bringing buggys. We have room for ten buggys downstairs.

OKIDO Magazine is an independent arts and science magazine for young children and their families. Created by parents in 2007, OKIDO is designed to fire up imagination and understanding of art and science. Founders, scientist Dr Sophie Dauvois (PhD BSc PG Dip.) and artist Rachel Ortas are passionate about engaging young children in the scientific world around them through play, art and fun.

The GET INTO SCIENCE events are most suitable for children aged around 3-7 but there’s lots to do for both younger and older children, so come along and join in the fun in a great learning environment for budding young scientists.
