Glitter, sparkles & things that twirl…

Yes, you guessed it, I have two little girls. And lately my life has been all consumed with anything that is glittery, sparkly and twirly. And yes, we watch Frozen most days, sometimes twice, definitely sing along to it every day, and most nights I wake up with one of those blasted songs in my head – am I singing this in my sleep?

climbing were our main form of entertainment. I have vague memories of a Cabbage Patch Kid and a Barbie, but really minimal exposure to the girly stuff…
I also spent the first 18 months of my first borns life avoiding pink and pretty and perhaps even dressed her in quite a lot of boys clothes (hand me downs from a best friend – how could I say no?). I didn’t want all this stuff that comes with girls, it wasn’t me, I didn’t understand it and I wanted my kids to be individuals, to be cool, dressed differently, blah blah blah…

know, there was nothing to worry about, cause these girls of mine are individuals, do have minds of their own and I rarely get to choose what either of them wear or listen to or play with on a daily basis. They have it all worked out, all by themselves – with a little help from Disney and some close friends who can’t help but give the glittering gifts.
That is not to say that I won’t be buying them more Lego, encouraging them to climb trees and ride bikes and build amazing car tracks that go all the way down the stairs and land in a cardboard box at

the end… I want them to enjoy it all.
WE are definitely getting the Tomy Big Loader repaired, the one my husband’s grandmother has kept in her garage since he was a boy. These are things we want to share from our childhood, which I think is one of the fun bits of being a parent.
AND, we will also watch all the girly films, dress up like princesses and sing at the top of our lungs in the car, ”Let it Go!”, or whatever the next big hit is going to be. And just enjoy it all… because whose to say when they’ll grow out of it and be onto the
