If I had a pound for every time I said no…

I’d be extremely wealthy.

I’m starting to worry I say no far too much. My son must think he’s not allowed to do anything. I probably say it 20 times an hour. No don’t go up the stairs, no don’t throw my phone, no don’t stand on your car garage, no don’t climb in the toy box, no don’t keep switching the plug socket on and off, no don’t eat that (what even is that) no, no, no, no, noooooo.

It’s no wonder that when I ask him to do anything now he shakes his head and says no even if it’s something I know he means yes to:
”Do you want a

biscuit? No? surely that’s not true.”

I’ve just been trying to have a normal adult conversation and whilst the phone was ringing I was shouting ”No don’t jump from there, no do you hear me, I said noooo.”

Just at that minute the lady on the other end answered the phone.
”Hello?”
”Nooooooo – Oh sorry I was wondering if I could speak to you regarding… ” Something ( by this point I have no idea who I’m calling or why but as long I maintain my polite telephone voice I’m sure I can wing this)

I suppose saying no is a better
