KPI’s of a Successful Child

When I first decided on the name ‘Can’t See the Wood’ I was a little concerned that my blog may have been mistaken as a place where lovers of a flaccid member could converge!  It made me chuckle and yet when I suggested as much to my other half he merely stared at me blankly.  This, I realised was probably a prime example of my largest problem (there are many more but we are only on Post Number 1).  I worry too much about random shit that wouldn’t even cross most people’s minds.

can’t see the wood for the trees! Hence the blog name.  I worry about whether I am feeding my kids enough, then I watch a documentary on the growing epidemic of childhood obesity and worry that I am feeding them too much.  I worry that I am not pushing my children enough, in this highly competitive world we live in.  Then I watch them working their way through their vast collection of Carol Vorderman’s Top of the Class books and think maybe I am pushing them too much!

conflicting information out there.  What are the criteria I am measuring against? What are the KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) of a successful child. After some serious thinking, here are mine….

Happy
Loved
Confident
Strong Self Worth

I haven’t worked out how I’m going to measure them accurately yet but as soon as I figure it out then I’ll let you know.  In all honesty though, I know my children are alright.  I know that they’re doing well, that they’re kind and are on their way to becoming well rounded individuals so why

do I worry so much and more importantly how do I stop?  If I knew the answer to that then I would be travelling the world in private jets giving important motivational talks and not blogging from a chilly back bedroom!
