Birth
Lock-down will be the time of your birth,
When mass uncertainty prowled the earth.
When sickness and grey painted so much,
What was once entwined became afraid to touch.
However, my darling we will pull a shroud,
Around that dark and daunting cloud.
For the darkness bought spirit and the darkness bought light,
It bought with it courage, unity and fight.
It bought a steadying of time and shift in perception,
Somehow tore people apart but increased connection.
Things, well they may not be as they were,
But

there are parts of now that I prefer.
I refuse to view now as a terrible time,
Although most is far from fine.
This sickness bought darkness but people painted the sky,
Recreated community and held their heads high.
It bought people together, it forced the whole world to slow,
Lucky lock-down baby born beneath a rainbow.
