Mum Friends vs The Hot Snot Grot

Mum friends are the freaking best. If you are lucky enough to have any you’ll know about this fabulous army of parents who are doing it they best way they know how, same as you. I’ve gleaned these beauties over the years from pregnancy yoga, playgroups, preschool, primary school, baby gym, aerobics and the obligatory friends of friends that end up being just friends…
This week the girl child has been hot and coughy, a sweaty little grumpy mess or a tired, teary poppet depending on when you catch her. So I’ve been awake pretty much since

Monday (it’s Thursday) as her coughing and needing a phantom wee have cheered me no end through the nights.
However the school run still needs running so you just get on with it. It’s only when I’ve had a moment to sit down, eat all the biscuits and ponder that I’ve noticed how freaking wonderful MF’s are. This week there have been shared school runs because we’ve had places to be and sick kids to handle, there has been the pick up which turned into dinner and a play date and my big child being delivered home in different bottoms as

he’d laughed so hard he wet himself (he’s 6 so this is still allowed to be properly funny not embarrassing), emergency Calpol delivery and so many messages just to check how the small one was getting on and whether I was in need of anything! Or (my personal favourites) to share how sh*t their days have been so you can have a good chuckle at each other’s sleep deprived, bogey covered fun times.

particular moment) but mostly thank you for making it so easy to accept and request your help. This only scratches the surface of how MF’s can make your life a bit fabulous but it’s an itch that needed scratching. MF’s rule.
