My Highland Midwife

I sat watching the Highland Midwife with my 2 week old son at 3am this morning, with tears streaming down my face (I am still very emotional) I thought I don’t know what I would do without my awsome midwife moira, and the early pregnancy lady Jeanette who has pretty much been on this 2 year journey with me and my husband  the lady who had to tell me 4 times that my baby had stopped growing, the same lady who then informed me I had sticky blood, (this is were your blood slightly clots and has risks of stopping your baby growing). The same lady that was

so Happy for us when she could let us know there was still a strong heart beat after 12 weeks before handing our care over to the midwife.

Moira was my midwife with my daughter lily, she saw me through post traumatic stress, she understood and empothised, she sat and chatted longer then she needed to when I had Nathan and cried for a week solid, cried because I was so happy he was finally here, cried because I was breastfeeding which was totally new to me as I never did it with my daughter, cried because of that massive overwhelming feeling of how as

I ever going to be able to leave the house with 2 children without loosing one or having a melt down in tesco.

Until one day she came round and I stopped crying (as much), I thought I can do this. It was moira that helped me see this.
Midwives are unique people that have this amazing quality to make to feel at ease when your life has changed and a new tiny person depends on you. From the ones in the hospital that support you from labour and the first few days of motherhood to your new baby, to the ones that come to your home. They are extremely hard
