Pink. Do you think?

Pink is a hue that varies wildly in look depending on its tone. Wear it in the wrong way and it can fall, simperingly flat, but style it up right and it can give an outfit some bang.

Right now the colour is having a moment, in every shade you can think of, from dusty to fuschia, raspberry or pastel. Softer pinks have so many girly / pretty / saccharine connotations that they look better when toughened up, with a biker jacket or black leather skirt – or worn in a pared-down minimalist way as was everywhere on the catwalk but isn’t necessarily great

PINKY PICKS…

1) I love this vibrant pink tailoring by Paul Smith. Sir Paul knows how to use colour and this would truly make a statement. No-one’s suggestion you go the whole hog and wear a pink shirt as well, we think this suit would look great with a white luxe T-shirt instead.

2) Eudon Choi is a simmering

light at London Fashion Week and who wouldn’t want to be wrapped up in this oversized, super-cosy dusty pink scarf? If last winter is anything to go by this could be the most sensible buy of the season.

3) This is a super jumper dress by Orla Kiely, which provides comfort and style in one-fell-swoop. A wonderful item to throw on when you’re working or away for a weekend. Dry clean it to keep its shape.
