Screw Batman. My Husband’s my hero!

I feel like, as Women – specifically as Mums, we’re finally getting a voice. We’re no longer afraid to be honest about how bloody hard it is to be a parent. Bloggers like ’The Unmumsy Mum’ and incredible platforms like Selfish Mother have allowed normal people the opportunity to say we’re struggling, and to be told it’s okay. That actually, we’re all #WingingIt.
We online Mums have found the positivity within these platforms, blog posts and social networks to build each other back up, rather than tear our peers down. And what a wonderful

feeling that can be!
But what about Dads? I know my Husband isn’t necessarily the type of person to spend hours trawling through forums and blogs for reassurance that what he’s doing is okay. And although I think he’s an incredible Father, I feel like he perhaps misses out on some of that solidarity that us Mums are getting so good at sharing.

Cheers to the ones who laugh rather than curse, as they get peed on seconds before bath time.
Bravo to the ones who do all the best voices during the bedtime stories. (My personal favourite is a Brummy Gruffalo!)
And a huge thank you to the ones who switch into ’Dad Mode’ the second they walk through the door.
You’re awesome; you’re doing a great job. Please don’t think we don’t notice.

doing what is required of him as a parent?”
I hear ya. But, as much as this seems like it should be the norm for a ”modern man” (after all, they’re just as responsible for making the baby!) I’m sure there are plenty of people who aren’t lucky enough to enjoy this incredible level of support.
I am one of those lucky ones, And I don’t ever want to take that support for granted.
So, Dads. Here’s to you.
