Slow down and be still with me. Let me lie on your chest, just like old times. I know you are trying to keep me a baby. Sorry Mummy Jojo, I am now a boy. A boy who turns 3 this month.
Slow down Mummy, please, I know you are so busy. Let’s just freeze this magical moment, you and me. Breath in the smell of my hair, just like you used to. Cover my skin you once called ’soft and perfect’ in kisses. Let me drool all over you.
For soon I will go. You have warned me that after Santa comes I start school nursery.

I’ll be honest Mummy, I am not going to like it very much at first. I might cry, just like Bonnie my big Sister did. I might hold onto you with all my might whispering gently ’Mama please stay’ and I think you will cry too. It will be ok though Mummy. I know I will make friends and I like the look of all those toys. Bonnie has told me I will have a great time, but it is very new for me. I’m going to be a big boy now.
These precious snuggly afternoon naps will soon be a distant memory. For now, right here, right now, will you pick being
