On some periphery of my online world I’ve been seeing a lot of #squadgoals. For those of you who don’t know your Taylor Swift from your Elizabeth Taylor, #squadgoals is the caption often found under an instagrammy image of a beautiful, young group of people posing-not-really-posing and being uber cool. The trend has done for friendship group pictures what avocado toast has done for snack shots on Instagram – make you feel like an underachieving fatty.

wiping baby sick from my shoulder. That was until today.
Today I have been recovering from a big night…in with my ’squad’. After a particularly challenging adulting run, last night I took a break. career, problems, fun and family as if evolution had finally caught up with women and given us six arms. They are the everyday heroines who are able to face the world with a smile and nurse a broken heart in dignified silence. Their tenacity and endurance is off the scale. Their sense of humour is wicked and their wit is razor sharp. Their hearts are soft and open and good.
Taylor Swift can keep Selina, because OMG, we’re so #squadgoals.
