the start of nursery

Tuesday is the day!!

lily starts nursery on Tuesday for 4 mornings a week, I can’t believe this day has come. my first feeling is excitement, I am so so excited as 1 or 2 of them mornings I will not be at work I will be free to do as I please, the morning is my ouster (or something like that).

I spoke to the husband about this, I could go to the gym, or clean the house, or do the washing. The realistic side of this will probably be me sitting watching this morning or reading a book with a cup of tea eating biscuits , but i will at least try the

other stuff for first week or so.

”I will walk to nursery” I told the husband, he was smirking at me, it’s like he knows I will only do this while my friend Emily is still on maternity leave and we can walk together, Emily goes back to work in November, She lives across the road; which is awsome to have a friend who is a mum and is a stone through away, she is so down to earth, my favourite is prosecco Sunday on a sunny day.

I work in the mornings and 2 evenings a week in a restaurant so  I usually see Emily a few afternoons a week, I’m going

to feel abit lost when she goes back to work,  but you never know I might still walk, I could end up being this super organised mum that walks and has her gym stuff and can bake, only problem with that is I’m a terrible cook ( one of the reasons I married a chef) and not the biggest fan of the gym either. Also if I drove her to nursery that would save me at least 20 minutes in the morning.

my next feeling is scared, what if my baby doesn’t like it? I mean I know she is about to turn 3 but she is still my baby, what if she gets upset and doesn’t

want me to leave? What if a child is mean to her or she is mean to them? It’s all very totes emosh

What if the other mums don’t like me, this scares me too, I mean we are going to be mums at the school gates for the next how many years, and what if they think I’m this big disorganised mess, (note to self; try not to be a big disorganised mess).

There are so many what if’s? Our lifestyle and routine will change, and it will change for the better, lily will experience new things, I will get a little bit of my own times back, and might just meet

some other great mums, dads, granny’s or grandpa’s along the way.

So if you see a mum on there own looking abit nervous go say hi, I’m sure it will make her feel better, as parents sometimes we are more nervous than our child is.

Wish me luck at the nursery gates,
