Toddlers At Airports: I’m sorry

1

First of all I need to apologise to all the people that have been effected by the tantrum 2 year old on the start middle and end of your journey to your holiday in the sun. The one where you saved up like we did so you could have a week or 2 to relax, but please try and remember we are doing our best to occupy our child  it’s all new and she is not a fan of the waiting around.

We went on holiday to Rhodes a few weeks ago, we went away with lily when she was 8 months old but she mainly drank her milk and slept on the flight, while me and

my husband ordered a drink and high fived how easy the experience was, how lucky we were after hearing so many bad stories of taking a baby on holiday ( karma’s a bitch) Fast forward 2 years and it’s just not the same.

To the man waiting in the cue to drop his bag off, I’m sorry lily jumped in front of you and screamed With a Moo Moo hear and a Moo Moo there while you tried to kiss your girlfriend killing your loved up holiday moment. Her current favourite animal is a cow and she loves old McDonald.

To the family with 4 children, you were busy

enough without lily grabbing your daughters paw patrol bag and shouting that mine mummy, then having to see your daughter cry as it took me and my husband a few minutes to pry Lily’s little hands off it. In her defence she does have that same bag at home but I made the mistake in taking her Minnie Mouse one error on my part.

To the group of lads off on there boys holiday  behind us as we waited to board the plane I’m sorry you had to listen to the frozen song ”let it go” over and over again, she was watching it and that’s her favourite part,

also I did get  her them junior head phones but she didn’t like them,  refused to wear them and it was the only thing that would keep her still.

To the lady next to us on the flight, I’m sorry lily repeatedly asked you what you where reading, drinking, eating for over 4 hours especially when her snotty little hands grabbed your chocolate, however you made the mistake  of giving her eye contact and talking to her at the beginning of the flight (I also thank you for being so kind).

To the woman sitting in front of us who tutted under your breath

as the flight took off, my daughter was scared it’s not the first time she has been on a flight but the first time she had to sit on her own chair so yes she cried and screamed but calmed down as soon as we were in the air. To the same woman that told my husband he should sort his child out, that this is a fucking joke and I’m sure I could hear over my daughters screams as she had to sit back in the seat to land  shut her up. I really hope you had the shittest holiday ever. You should have listened to your husband when he was telling you to be quiet

as he saw a tear roll down my cheak out of sheer anger.  It took everything for me not to pour my daughters juice over your head, Or when my husband and the man behind us who also had a screaming child told you to calm down, you were makeing  more of a scene than these tiny people. To you I am just not sorry.

i know for people who don’t have children, having one on your flight can be an annoying experience but we all deserve a holiday.

The rest of the holiday was fantastic, thankfully I never saw that woman again And lily slept all the way on
