Visualise… and make it happen

Are you like me and you have to see something to believe it? Whether I’m studying, cooking, being told a tale…. I have to visualise it to understand it fully. Some people are wordsmiths, I love pictures to go with it!
Many years back, I was given the hot tip to create a ’Visual Dream Journal’. Basically it’s a notebook that you fill with inspiration. Ideas that you like. Holidays, your dream car, the house you are striving to own… I guess its the vintage version of Pinterest but the difference is, it’s completely private, and you

can put anything you want in there. No one has to know!
I’ve tried Pinterest but the issue I have with it is that once I’m on the Internet, I travel to other sites and before you know it, 2 hours have passed and I’ve accomplished NOTHING!!! So, for me, a notebook that I can sit with, and write my dreams in and fill with pictures that I’ve seen in magazines etc is PERFECT! Plus as a mother, it is nice to have some ’time out’ to quietly dream about my future and plan.

amazed to see that most of the things I dreamed about creating for my family, I had accomplished! I yearned to live by the water (tick), I hoped to holiday somewhere tropical (Fiji, tick), I wished for a 4WD to cart my growing boys and their toys around in (tick), I aspired to be a nurse (tick), I wanted to write a book (tick)…… Some of it might seem superficial but it allowed me to create a better life, with more to offer than the one I was living at the time.
Some things in life we can’t control, but a lot, we can.

carve out a life that makes you fulfilled and happy in your heart. Stop sitting there wishing for it over and over again, and have the courage to take the steps to make it happen. Now, many years on, I’m still dreaming and aspiring. My current Journal is filled with desired holiday destinations, yacht envy, career goals, renovation ideas… It may not all come my way, but at least I am dreaming and therefore…
