“What are your skills?”

I recently went for an interview, well as it goes there wasn’t actually a job available.

After five years ’off’ to make a family it was a big deal to sit down in front of someone and talk about myself. Only myself, not my children, not my husband, myself.

The meeting was going well, I spoke about my business and how I enjoy the flexibility of working from home and then it came ”what are your skills?” I hate this question. Certain questions are asked in life that you know the standard answers to but, I wonder why we don’t answer the truthful,

longer versions.

Of course the standard out loud answers were;

Time Management.
Finances.
Organisation.
Creative.

These are all contributions right?

I can totally whip the Henry around the carpet in one hand, holding a baby in the other.
I can dispense two types of cereal in two separate bowls at the same time, while watching a youtube video on how to vanish sharpie from a school polo shirt.
I can easily hold 3 conversations and one baby talk at the same time, while answering emails.
I can, with little effort, list out the

entire daily Disney Junior schedule.
I am fairly certain I can predict the future when it comes to my children.
I know exactly where they will land, from where I have told them to be careful not to fall.
Diplomat.
I am ace at wiping bottoms.
Chemist.
Librarian.
Chef.
Sous Chef.
Dish washer.
I can find socks in record, last minute time.
I have a succesful record of getting three small people to where they need to be.
Mind reader, allegedly.
Fixer, of hearts, clothes, bags, shoes, toys.
Ability to converse fluently in toddler

Tour Guide. All day, every day. ”ooh looks it’s a cow out of your window, no your window, not mine yours, no the other one, no, no, oh forget it it’s gone” /and repeat.
Expert in Life Admin, scheduling, gift buying and playdate organising.
Photographer, if we have done anything it will be on Instagram.
Stealth. Very important all year, the best stealth moves are saved for that one night in December.
I have a high tolerance to embarrassment. Came in handy this week where a pair of my knickers flipped out of the shopping bag as I was

about to pack in Waitrose this week. (must not leave laundry next to shopping bags)
Time Keeping. The 3 children will be in bed at 7pm and I will be enjoying a sneaky vino at 7.01pm.

Totally employable right?
