What If It Was Your Child?

1
What if it was your child who couldn’t sleep as so upset? What if it was your child with tears in their eyes as they spoke to you? What if it was your child who couldn’t eat? What if it was your child who didn’t want to go to school? What if it was your child who looked twisted in anguish? What if was your child?

What if it was you that had to see your child so sad? What if it was you that worried all day about whether they would be OK? What if it was you who couldn’t sleep as you lay awake trying to think about how to make things better? What if

it was you who just wanted to see their child smiling, happy and content? What if it was you who wanted more than anything to take away their pain? What if it was you whose heart ached as you saw them struggle? What if it was you?

What if it was your child who was being bullied?

This isn’t a post about bullying as I don’t feel I can write those words. It suffices to say it is awful. However, it’s a message to the parents. The children, sadly, aren’t listening. Imagine if it was your child. Imagine if it was you. Let’s raise our children to be

kind. Let’s raise them to be sincere. Let’s raise them to give a damn about others and to step in if they see bullying happening. If we can stop just one more child feeling the effects of bullying just by speaking to our children honestly about this then what a better world we can try as a group to make. I can’t change the world alone but together we have the ability to make a small difference which in turn makes the hugest difference to someone who may be affected and that does mean the world. What if it was your child? Just saying.

Hi, I'm a mum of two gorgeous teenage girls and one boy (who is gorgeous as well of course!) blogging my way through the funny of what teenagers do with such sheer brilliance ... being teenagers ... and when I'm not being mummy, blogging and social media obsessing (which isn't often!) I'm a pianist and budding songwriter.
