30 Fun Questions to Ask Your Kids

One-on-one conversation is a really great way to bond with your child, but are you sometimes frustrated by the one word answers you get when you try to engage with them? Sometimes we just need to make sure we are asking the right questions! If you are stuck for inspiration or not sure where to start, here are 30 lighthearted and interesting questions to ask your kids that will engage them, get them thinking and bring you closer together. My boys absolutely love it when we do this and often ask me to write down more questions for them!

If you could be a sound, what would it be?

J: (various fart noises)

D: BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!

How would you change the world if you could?

J: I would destroy younger siblings

D: Everyone was a pig

What do you think you will do in the future and why?

J: Die, eventually

D: Buy a hovercraft

What do you know how to do that you can teach to others?

J: How to make a comic book

D: Well, I do know how to levitate!

If you could do anything right now, what would you do?

J: Go to The Fenn Bell (local attraction)

D: Eat grass

What makes you feel brave?

J: Bumblebees

D: Yellow snow

What is the best thing about nature?

J: Everything

D: Grass

What makes you so awesome?

J: I’m good at rhyming things with the word ‘time’

Would it be fun to learn another language?

J: No. I’m already learning French I don’t need to learn another one

D: Spanish or Chinese

J: Ride my bike, walk the dog, see a pig

D: Trampoline, be friends with bees, drink some custard

If you had a pet dragon, what would you name it?

J: Endy, after The Ender Dragon (from Minecraft)

D: Storm

J: Lion tamer

D: Tight rope – I would hang on with my arms and do it!

J: Fing from ‘Fing’. Especially Baby Fing

J: Finally being able to buy whatever I want

J: Tiger shark – it eats everything and if you had one you could use it as a bin!

D: Humans – because of you (double aww)

J: None – I’ll have a dog and some reptiles

J: It would be called ‘Don’t Read This Book’

J: Plane tickets, loads of money, my tablet

D: Snack cupboard, laptop, microwave
