Introduction

Welcome to Making Up Your Mummy Life. You don’t know me and I don’t know you; let me rectify one part of that right now.

I am Laura and I am Wife to The Science Dude and Mammy to The Awesome One – who actually just turned two! Please forgive my name for her, I am so incredibly biased and not remotely sorry!(see them above checking out Mammy’s Blog 🙂 )

I am the wrong side of 30 and I have just completed my first two year as a brand-new Mum aka The Fastest Years know to human kind. This has been alongside a return to work

Unsurprisingly I am tired but I am also the friend you need when it is all going to pot and I am the crazy lady who will visibly ‘sprinkle’ you with invisible magic dust to send you safely on your next adventure.

I’m not here to give you any answers to anything because I don’t have them. I just want to be able to give you a bit of realistic insight to how your life will look when your baby comes or indeed let you know that you are not alone if you are reading this and know exactly what I am talking about. Whoever you are and however you choose to parent, I want you to know that it is ok and it is going to be ok! I also write because being fresh back from a visit to the

family doctor, I need an outlet to share and you guys are it. Also, I want to remember who I am….

So, whether you are a brand-new mammy reading this through one eye during a night feed, a seasoned mama who is reading this on her phone whilst locked in the bathroom eating a <insert chocolate name of choice> or a lovely mummy to be who is just looking for some clue, any clue about what is about to befall her, I hope you enjoy and I hope you know how blinking awesome you are!

You really, really are!

P.S I wanted to dedicate this blog to me for surviving but apparently, that’s a bit egotistical and not at all ‘me’. So, cheers Science Dude and Awesome One; you are the reason for everything. Cheers to each and every one of you! x
