Sometimes I look down and I’m so sad to see,
All the wrinkles and streatchmarks that didn’t used to be.
But today when I look all I see is your face,
Where that lovely flat tummy was once in its place.
And I think I’m so lucky to have you instead,
Even when you wriggle and kick me in bed.
So I’ll make peace with my extra handbag of skin,
And the belly button that refuses to go back in.
Because life without you would mean I wasn’t a mummy,
And that’s worth giving up my lovely flat tummy!
